Dal 10 Dicembre al 21 Gennaio la MondoPOP Gallery di Roma ospiterà una mostra collettiva d’eccezione: Taetrum et Dulce.

Lo show, curato da David Vecchiato e Dan Barry, prevede una rassegna di opere dei pittori Pop Surrealisti e Low Brow di punta in America e Italia. 
Come da titolo, un clash tra le atmosfere cupe e delicate che contraddistinguono la corrente pittorica nata in America come risposta all’arte mainstream, forte della convivenza di uno stile classico e figurativo con i soggetti e il gusto della cultura Pop.

La MondoPOP gallery propone un incontro tra lo stile pittorico americano, tipico della corrente Pop Surrealista, e la sua interpretazione italo-europea.

Una line-up imperdibile:

Artisti affermati, per la prima volta in Italia, strizzano l’occhio all’avanguardia pittorica del nostro Paese.

Una co-curatela che rimarca l’importanza della MondoPOP gallery nel panorama artistico internazionale, e che vedra’ nuove tappe negli States nel 2012.

From May 14 to June 25, 2011 at MondoPOP International Art Gallery in Rome there will be an exhibition on the theme collective experimental: 
Pimp my Art!

The artists of the Pop Surrealist and New Contemporary Art will present their new works created by modifying and customizing existing works of art,
 from photographs to postcards, from flea market paintings to vintage prints.

The typical practice in Pop art to transform the ordinary object is enhanced in this experiment to make art on art,
as an ideal fusion between past and a contemporary mark.

Pimp My Art is introducing a new collective project MondoPOP:
customize, reinvent and renew on commission paintings and works that we do not want to see anymore as they are.
Works that each of us has at home can be reinterpreted with a custom “signed” New Art.

Images that take new life with the interpretation of artists from different hands and unmistakable style that has its roots, depending on the artist, 
in Pop Surrealism, Lowbrow, Urban Art, Street Art

An exhibition of art that becomes a service agency to offer to fans and collectors in order to look with a new eye at works of art that already belong to us.

Dal 14 maggio al 25 giugno 2011 alla MondoPOP International Art Gallery di Roma si terrà un’esibizione collettiva dal tema sperimentale: Pimp my Art.

Gli artisti della scena Pop Surrealista e della Nuova Arte Contemporanea presentano i loro nuovi lavori realizzati modificando e customizzando opere d’arte già esistenti, dalle fotografie alle cartoline, dai quadri da mercatino a stampe di altri artisti.
 La tipica pratica Pop di trasformare in arte l’oggetto comune si esalta in questo esperimento di fare arte su arte, come in un’ideale fusione tra segni del passati, remoto o vicino, e segni contemporanei.

Pimp My Art è la collettiva che introduce un nuovo progetto di MondoPOP: 
customizzare, reinventare e rinnovare per commissione quadri e opere che non vogliamo più vedere, così come sono. 
Opere che ognuno di noi ha già in casa scopriamo che possono essere reinterpretate in un custom “firmato” New art.

Immagini che prendono nuova vita con l’interpretazione di artisti dalle diverse mani e dallo stile inconfondibile che trova le sue radici, a seconda dell’artista, nel Pop Surrealismo, Lowbrow, Urban Art, Street Art.

Una mostra che diventa un servizio di art agency da offrire ad appassionati e collezionisti per vedere con occhio nuovo opere d’arte che già ci appartengono.

MondoPOP presents the most important international artists  from Urban Art, Pop Surrealism and Low Brow Art regarding Character design.
Heirs of International Pop, this generation of artists born between 70’s and 80’s, grown up with Disney, Looney Tunes, anime and Manga, vintage videogames and old internet aesthetics, often create characters similar to the ones they spent their childhood and adolescence with: puppets that comes back from the childish imagination to fill the visual imagination of adults.

But you should not look to the figures represented as a mere exercise of replication of the older comics or cartoons: with their strong ability to penetrate the imaginary of entire generations

characters become the protagonists of this perfect society, suitable to communicate every single message, from social criticism to human moods.
